Levent BAKIRCI was born in Ankara.
He is a member of the ensemble at the Staatstheater Nürnberg where he will make his debut in 2016/2017 as Taddeo in L’Italiana in Algeri, Donner in Das Rheingold and Andrey Shchelkalov in Boris Godunov. Other roles in Nürnberg for the season 2015/2016 included Zurga in Les pêcheurs de perles, the title role of Don Giovanni , Marcello in La Bohème, Il conte d’Almaviva in Le nozze di Figaro, Escamillo in Carmen, Dr. Falke in Die Fledermaus.
He is scheduled to make his debut at the Teatro Municipal Santiago as Don Giovanni in 2018, at Staatstheater Nürnberg as Marcello in La Bohème and Papageno in Die Zauberflöte. In 2015 he made his debut at Theatre du Capitole Toulouse as Il Prigioniero by Luigi Dallapiccola.
Levent was a prize winner in Aslico competition and semi finalist in Operalia, Competizione dell’opera Dresden, Neue Stimmen competition, Belvedere competition etc…
From 2008 till 2011 he was engaged to the Theater Bremen, where his repertoire included roles
such as Don Giovanni, Eugene Onegin, Figaro in Il Barbiere di Siviglia, Sharpless in Madama Butterfly, Ping in Turandot and Dr.Falke in Die Fledermaus,
Other appearances have included Cahit in Gegen die Wand at Oper Stuttgart, Cecco in Il mondo della luna at Teatro Verdi Trieste, Eugene Onegin and Dr.Falke in Die Fledermaus at Theater Bielefeld, Figaro in Il Barbiere di Siviglia at Theater Aachen, Eugene Onegin at Theater Koblenz and NWD Philarmonie, Enrico in Lucia di Lammermoor in IVAI Tel Aviv, Belcore in L’elisir d’amore and Starek in Jenufa at Istanbul Staatsoper and Un mandarino in Turandot at Ankara Staatsoper.
He was a member of the Academy of vocal arts (AVA Philadelphia) and Accademia d’arte lirica Osimo. Levent is a graduate of Mechanical engineering department of Middle East Technical University Ankara.
